Simple Upgrades That Add More Value To Your Home

If you’re looking to sell your home and you want to maximize your sale price, you might be wondering what renovations or upgrades you should do. Right?

First of all, before doing any renovations or upgrades, be sure to ask your real estate agent for a market evaluation of your home and discuss your plans with them.

That's because you really want to know how your home stacks up against the homes currently for sale in your neighborhood, as well as those that recently sold. This will give you information to do a cost benefit analysis where you determine what renovations or upgrades are necessary by estimating how much value they will add compared to their costs, to see if you'll get a return on your investment.

Home renovation shows on cable TV are great for entertainment, but you should not rely on them 100% for such decisions like this because some of the upgrades and renovations that they do on those shows will be overkill for your home and provide little or no return on your investment.

There are many things you can do that will cost very little money, but add a lot of value to your home. Things like improving the curb appeal for example... with simple landscaping, fresh flowers, exterior painting, etc.

Next, replace any outdated items in the interior with more modern ones... things like cabinet hardware, light fixtures, etc.

Finally, touch up the interior walls with neutral paint and replace any mechanical systems that have exceeded their useful life.

I hope you found this information helpful.
